What we can help with
- A transfer that debited you but never reached the other account
- A POS, ATM or web payment that debited you with no cash or value given
- A debit you didn't authorise
- An account that has been restricted or frozen without a clear answer
Sent money to the wrong account by mistake? If the person won't return it, banks usually ask for a court order. That is work for a lawyer, and we don't do it.
Account frozen? Many freezes come from a court order (often a "post no debit" order) or a hold placed by the EFCC or another agency. Lifting those is work for a lawyer, and we don't do it. We can only help with a complaint to your bank when the restriction is the bank's own decision.
How it works
- Tell us what happened. Date, amount, bank, and what you've already tried. We never ask for your PIN, password, OTP, BVN or card number.
- Sign a letter of authority. It lets us raise and follow up the complaint for you. You can withdraw it at any time.
- We file and track it. We send the complaint to your bank, record the tracking number it must give you, and watch the deadline for your type of complaint.
- We escalate if the bank stalls. If the bank misses its deadline or doesn't acknowledge you, we prepare the escalation to the CBN and then the FCCPC, and keep you updated.
The rules banks already have to follow
These are public CBN rules. We use them to keep your complaint on the clock.
- The CBN says that if your bank doesn't acknowledge your complaint within three days, or doesn't give you a tracking number, or doesn't resolve it within the timelines in its Consumer Protection Regulations, you can escalate to the CBN's Consumer Protection Department. CBN: How to Lodge a Complaint
- The CBN publishes a resolution timeline for each type of complaint. For example, an account freeze complaint or a delayed transfer within the same bank has 2 working days at the bank's first review. CBN Consumer Protection Regulations 2019, Annexure D
- You can write to the CBN's Consumer Protection Department at [email protected]. CBN: Lodge a complaint
All links go to the CBN's own website. Rules can change, so we check the current version for each case.

Privacy
Eminify Technologies Limited (RC1866750, Lagos) controls the details you give here, under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. We collect only your email and, if you choose, the type of problem and a rough amount band. We use them, with your consent, to tell you when Recoverly launches and to measure interest in this test. We don't sell them. We don't collect bank details, and this page uses no advertising or third-party tracking. Where your data goes. This page and its database are hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., which processes the data for us. Your details are stored and processed outside Nigeria: the database is not located in Nigeria, and Cloudflare may handle requests in other countries. We rely on your consent for that transfer. To keep the service secure, Cloudflare also processes your IP address and technical request logs (for example, to block abuse). To stop abuse, our server also keeps a one-way hash of your IP address for a few minutes, so it can limit repeated requests. The hash is made with a secret key, so it can't be turned back into your IP address. It is deleted automatically within 24 hours. We never store your IP address itself.
